GiGi's Cupcakes
1816 Broadway
Nashville, TN 37203
I
have been to Nashville twice now, and my fiancé has been a few other times than
those two, and every time that she goes, we have to go to a little cupcake
place called GiGi's. They specialize in cupcakes and mini cheesecakes, and they
really offer up some amazing flavors. We drove down to their shop one day to
pick up some cupcakes for everyone else while the others were walking through
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because we had done it previously.
The
place has some really awesome flavors. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake
and my fiancé ordered the banana cream pie cupcake. Both were pretty
outstanding. The cheesecake was very light, but very rich at the same time. The
peanut butter didn’t overwhelm the cheesecake flavor so you still really felt
like you were eating cheesecake. The chocolate crust at the bottom was really
delicious as well. It was crumbly but it didn’t fall apart, so you could get a
good piece of it with each peanut buttery bite. My fiancé's favorite is the
banana cream pie and after tasting it I can see why. It was fantastic, a
miniature version of the classic dessert. The banana flavor was very strong,
and the dusting of Nilla wafers on top was the proverbial icing on the cake. It
was a very well balanced, not overly sweet cupcake. All we were missing was a
giant glass of milk to wash it all down!
Three
pints for GiGi's cupcakes. They offer some delicious cupcake flavor options,
but if you go, make sure it isn’t on a Sunday because they aren’t open. It is
definitely worth a visit if you are in the Nashville area, but you may want to
BYOM (bring your own milk)! Cheers!
